We announce that the Tandem Building obtained the BREEAM Outstanding certification, with a score of 87.1. The entire portfolio of projects completed and inaugurated during the last two years – Tandem, Millo Offices and U•Center phase 1 – are BREEAM or LEED v4 certified, fully leased, and 100% powered with electricity from renewable sources.
"Obtaining the BREEAM Outstanding certification for the Tandem building completes the certifications obtained by the office projects we developed and attests to our concern and commitment to sustainable development, designed around the well-being of the employees of the tenant companies and the local community", said Geo Mărgescu , CEO and co-founder of Forte Partners. "In the development of all our projects, we focus on energy efficiency, safety, functionality, architecture, air quality and the way natural light is used, both in the workspaces and in the indoor and outdoor common areas."
The BREEAM Outstanding certification was awarded to the Tandem project following the evaluation according to ten criteria: Management, Health and Wellbeing, Energy, Transport, Water Consumption, Materials Used, Waste, Land Use and Ecology, Pollution and Innovation.
The Tandem Building and Millo Offices are part of the Sector 0 project, a Forte Partners initiative on the premium office segment. Sector 0 means a total investment worth 100 million euro and consists in the development of office buildings for creative and digital communities, both companies and entrepreneurs/ freelancers. Sector 0 marks a cluster of buildings perfectly integrated in the art deco architectural style, specific to the area, in the vicinity of the representative building Palatul Telefoanelor.
Located on Matei Millo Street, close to Calea Victoriei, the Tandem Building has easy access to the University Square public transport hub (metro, bus, trolleybus). In addition, tenant companies benefit from the SpotUs application, accessible on their mobile phones. The application, developed by Forte Partners in partnership with the Cluj company Parking Spotter, allows fully digitized interaction with all the resources of an office building – parking, access control, booking office, management of building users, etc.
The office buildings in the Forte Partners portfolio, leased to companies such as Booking Holdings, Endava, Inulta, Grohe, Heberger Constructii, Dragne & Asociații, McKinsey & Company, Lensa, UpRomania, BT, Neuroaxis, DCS plus, obtained, in 2021 and 2022, a series of certifications attesting to the sustainable and responsible way in which they were developed. The BREEAM Outstanding certification obtained by the Tandem Buildings follows Millo Offices’ BREEAM Outstanding certification with a score of 91.6. The first phase of the U • Center office project obtained LEED Platinum certification with a score of 85, one of the highest LEED v4 certifications obtained in Romania, and WELL Health & Safety, which certifies the sanitary safety of the building. Forte Partners intends to obtain similar certifications for the second phase of the U•Center project, currently under construction, and which will be completed in Q3 2023.
